1050 vs 1100 aluminum alloy

AA1050 alloy VS AA1100 alloy

1. Both A1050 and A1100 are pure aluminum plates

Among all the series, the 1000 series belongs to the series with the most aluminum content. The purity can reach more than 99.00%. Because it does not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is the most commonly used series in conventional industries at present.  For example, the last two digits of the 1050 series are 50, and the aluminum content must reach more than 99.5%;

The characteristics of 1100 pure aluminum plate 1100 is industrial pure aluminum, the aluminum content (mass fraction) is 99.00%, and it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has high corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, low density and good plasticity. It can produce aluminum through pressure processing, but its strength is low. Other process performances are basically the same as 1050A.

2.1050 VS 1100 add element

A1050 and A1100 aluminum alloys are formed by adding a small amount of copper to pure aluminum, which have excellent forming and processing properties, high corrosion resistance, good weldability and electrical conductivity. Widely used in products that do not require high strength, such as chemical instruments, thin plate processing parts, deep drawing or spinning concave vessels, welding parts, heat exchangers, clock surfaces and disks, nameplates, kitchen utensils, decorations, reflective appliances, etc. .
Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength σb (MPa) 95 ~ 125
Conditional yield strength σ0.2 (MPa) ≥ 75
Heat treatment range:

A1100: Pure aluminum with low strength, excellent formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance.
Scope of application: 1100 is usually used to require good forming performance, high corrosion resistance, and does not require high strength, such as video and chemical handling and storage equipment, sheet metal products, hollow hardware processed by drawing and spinning, Weld combination keys, reflectors, nameplates, etc.

A1050: Relatively low strength, excellent formability, weldability, corrosion resistance
Scope of application: general utensils, building materials, electrical appliances, various containers, printing plates, etc.
